When two trees roots meet each other in a forest they merge, connecting the two together so that they can help and support each other. Entire forests can be linked through their roots, offering nutrients, water, even warnings of impending danger to each other.\u00a0
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These connections make me think of our human relationships. We bond ourselves together with others, bringing our strengths, weaknesses, and our own personal networks with us. This new connection works because it allows us to strengthen each other, to be a constant source of support against life\u2019s many challenges. Sometimes we will need help, and our tethered allies will be there for us. Most of all though the connection allows us to be there for the others.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the trees are constantly looking out for each other the forest grows stronger, other plants begin to grow, animals join, and a vast network of life is built. If those bonds are broken the forest shrinks, the ground eventually turns to sand, and the life is gone.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is the same for us. If we are connected to those around us, particularly those closest to us, and give more than we take, then we all grow stronger, we ride out life\u2019s challenges, and become a part of something much greater than ourselves.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Remember though. These connected roots can also transmit disease. Be mindful that you are not harming those around you, and them you, weakening each other with a constant drip of poison. If this is happening, quickly fix the problem or break the bond before you do too much lasting damage to your partner, yourself, and all those connected to you.
